I was buying coins this morning and one of the hundreds I had had a pretty low serial number - JB00000191A series 2003 (not sure about the letters but the numbers are right). Is that low enough to carry a premium on a Ben? I don't really know grading for notes, but I would describe it as AU (it had obviously spent time in wallets, but was still crispy-crisp wit no significant creases).

Unfortunately (and I'm kicking myself for not checking first), I went ahead and spent it. She was already in the vault and I didn't have enough other cash on hand, and the account at that bank only holds a minimum balance.

Hundreds are hard to keep for most people but that low a number would be attractive to some buyers if in good shape.

Probably with eBay fees it wouldn't end up being worth my time. Bah, next time I'll find one with six zeros.

How about one like this, think it would bring a premium.

Absolutely beautiful BillCollector! I'd love to get my hands on a note like that one day. My great great grandfather was a Schooner Captain out of Baltimore in the mid 1800s. I know that one doesn't date to that period but I still love it

Yes I agree,
It is a neat note, and I guess it may get some of the kids on here excited. But for me it's not the number that's important, it's the note itself.

I collect US Currency, not currency numbers. I did not find it at a bank, I bought it, but I did not and will not pay more for a note just because it has a star or a special number.

The note was added to my NBN denom. collection and it completed it. So now I have the 5., 10., 20., 50., and 100. NBN collection complete, time for me to move on to the next phase of currency collecting. I would be just as happy with this note if it had a standard type number.

In fact I just realized that I have a radar number Large size 1918 FRBN $ 1.00 Spread Eagle note, I'll have to take some photos of it, did not buy it because of the number, bought it because of what it was, also have the $ 2.00 Battleship note, now I need to find a nice 5., 10., and 20., to add to the large size FRBN collection.

If anyone has one or more of what I need I would be more than happy to try and buy it from you, I cant trade off any of my duplicates toward what I need but I do have enough post to maybe buy what you have with run of the mill Cash.
Regards
Bill C.

Thanks for the reminder wquinn,
I forgot that comments like I made are not allowed except in the Buy, Sell, Trade section.
I'll go back and delete that part of my post.
Thanks again.

Sorry,
I guess I'm not allowed to delete the last part of my post.
Maybe if the Mods think it's that much out of line they can delete it for me.
