What are your thoughts? I hate that spot on the reverse (verdigris?) but thought it was nice overall.

I would soak in pure acetone to try to remove the reverse spot. Doesn't appear to have much luster left except in the most hidden recesses of the design elements.

I'd grade at AU-58.

Acetone certainly worth a try, but I do not think that the stain will be affected. It looks to be an inorganic sulfide stain.

I agree with AU58,
slight wear on the high points of the orb above the crown, and a little weakly struck in and below the date area.

Not a highly valuable coin, and so may be worth the risk to mechanically remove the sulfide stain with a toothpick.
Some evidence of such work WILL be seen under magnification.

Thanks for the replies. I actually already bathed it in acetone but no physical methods for removing the stain yet.

The high points of the reverse are worn, I'm rating this as an XF45.

Whatever the grade, the value is low enough you could clean it up and not really hurt yourself.
