Why do you think its a Washington quarter struck on 1941 Canada Quarter?
Can you post pictures of the coin, and tell us its weight?

to the forum!

The 1970 Washington quarter is a common coin.

Social media sites use a rare example of a 1970 Proof quarter that was reportedly struck on a 1941 Canadian coin to get people to click and visit their pages.

The odds of this happening are rare and the chances of finding one in change are nearly 0.

Proof coins were not minted for circulation, business strikes are minted for circulation, these are two different types of coins.

What about it?

It is listed for $35,000, hasn't sold yet.

I don't understand your question.

EDIT: For starters, does your coin have an S mint mark?

Pics would be very helpful. The coin you're referencing is most likely a one-off "manufactured" error. But, maybe it's a two-off? It seems that other than press, no one has any real interest in it for the following reason.

There would be no legitimate reason for that Canadian dollar to be mixed in with quarter planchets unless placed there intentionally by an employee only to capture it after striking.

The coin mentioned is still unsold. I wonder why it's on eBay and not in a formal auction?

I don't mean to burst any bubbles but, if you did have another example I doubt that too many would be interested in buying because of it being intentionally created.
