Wow! When heading to the bank I was contemplating whether to buy a box of nickels or a box of cents. I ended up getting a box of cents because my last two boxes had been nickels and I was ready for a change (get it, change...crickets...). I'm so glad I did!
I found around 79% copper! You read that right. Not 79% zinc, but 79% copper! I usually get around 20-20% copper. Here are most of them laid out on my desk. It looks chaotic, but I swear there is some method to it. I'm still working on rolling them up.

Here are the wheat ear cents I found. There are 23 of them! The dates are, from oldest to newest, '29, '39, '45, '47-D, '48, '51, '51-D, '52-S, '55-D, (3)'56-D, '57, (4)'57-D, '58-D.

Here are some nice updates for my album:

I found ten Canadian pennies, the oldest being a 1966.

Furthermore, I found about six wood-grain cents which were all either '80 or '81, a cent with a hole in it, one struck with an incredibly worn die, and some 2009 cents. I kept all of these because they were interesting.
Fun times!

Very nice! I'm going to grab a box of cents this weekend - I hope I'm half as lucky.

I never get "skunked" with cents because I hoard copper as well as searching for wheats,,BU 60's and 70's and varieties and errors. I always find SOMETHING I hold onto.

SDcoinguy, I just ask for a box of pennies. If they don't have them, just try somewhere else.
I always find something good to keep whether it be in a box of cents or in a box of nickels. In a box of cents I keep everything that is copper (1981 and prior, plus some 1982s), and in nickels I keep everything 1959 and earlier. I've never searched anything other than cents or nickels.

I guess it depends on what you are into, but by the common criteria, getting skunked on nickels or pennies is pretty much impossible. That's why they're a nice change when you're taking a beating on halves :)
