Great day today hit a local school/sports complex. The elementary school jungle gym has been untouched by us for over a year. Nicely re-seeded I think. Gold Silver and Clad what more could anyone want.

Nice haul. I have been thinking about getting a metal detector and having a bit of a poke around. What prices are we talking about here - can you get a decent chance of finding something with a machine costing two to three hundred dollars or do you have to go into the thousands? I have no idea!
My Ace250 cast less than 200 for the base unit and another $40 for the larger search coil. Its not the detector, its the amount of practice you put into getting to know it.

With the larger coil I can go about 12 inches. the standard coil runs about 8 either way you don't really want to go that deep unless its a pile o Gold and the ACE will not tell you that Rings show as Nickels and Gold chain comes up in the Cent area...

sounds good. I may have to ask Santa for one and then hit the beaches :-) I think that there is a club in Tassie here somewhere, maybe that is a good place to start - are you in a club or just going solo?
i have the ace 250 and have just got the bigger coil. went over the same field with it as I did the previous week with the standard coil an pulled out 3 hammerds that were roughly 10-12 inches down.it was well worth the investment.i find that the pinpoint is not as accurate though with it.so I just dig a bigger hole lol.
Thats great nohope, if this were a contest I'll guess Nasugbu thereabouts, lots of coins lost and thrown around there, hope you enjoyed your stay and will be coming back for more, best
