I have been breaking open so many mint and proof sets I have more than half of the Sac dollars .. has anyone put one of these sets together? How many years does the Dansco book go up to .. ?
Does anyone know why the 2001 S proof Sac dollar is at such a high price?
I have a complete set. They all come from mint sets and are still in their package. I haven't bought a Dansco for them yet as I am still debating whether I am keeping them or not. I cracked open the mint sets for the cents, nickels, dimes, halves and now, Presidential dollars. I gave my complete state quarter set to my oldest step daughter for her birthday. I have given several state quarter sets away as gifts and it's fun to do. I'm always on the lookout for a good mint set to cutup. Lol.
Irishraider I have been working on my second set of state quarters, giving them as gifts sounds like a good idea. Not sure if I will put as much effort into the second set as I did on the first. Most of the quarters in my first set have good luster or are toning well .. and very little or no bag marks. After seeing how good the state quarter set looked .. I started thinking the dollars would look good too. I have been putting the presidential dollars away for a set also.
I worry if I bought a dansco Sac dollar book and the dates listed go out to, say 2015 and they stop making them in 2013 .. I would not like having the unfilled dates.
Does anyone know why the 2001 Sac Proof dollar is the high priced one? If red book mintage numbers are right it is not even the lowest mintage.
