Glenn, you seem to have a love for MS64?
I guess it is a happy compromise from still affordable to sometimes "dreams only".
maybe one day you show off your collection?

Good Morning Coingirl, I love the fact you can acquire a respectable grade/red colour in an MS-64 VS. paying the ludicrous 3-10X the price for one point higher.
My cent collection is weak because my other five decimals are favoured over my cents. I find it frustrating collecting cents because you not only have the grade/eye appeal to worry about but there is also the "AMOUNT" of red to be concerned with when looking for nice examples. With the other 5 decimals you have only the grade/eye appeal, and in most cases when you buy a silver coin in high grade, eye appeal usually goes hand in hand!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!............Glenn

I just started collecting large cents not too long ago, and this one is my personal favorite (for now). Die cracks, the attached I in REGINA, the weird looking V, double forehead and nose. The scans don't do justice to this coin.

And an ugly looking Far 6.

Glenzy, I edited this out for your own protection - what gets posted here at CCF is on Google within minutes. Coingirl should have Forum Email turned on - you can send her your email that way much more securely.

I'm sorry Coingirl, I was at the Hospital visiting my sister this morning, she had emergency surgery overnight and is now recovering. However, here is my I.C.C.S., 1897, MS-64, Red, Large Cent.

I posted the link to my registry set a few days ago. Pictures of my "A" coins can be seen there. Here are two coins that are not in the registry set. Sorry for posting them a couple of days late.

1894 Thick 4, in a an old green PCGS holder at MS-65 RB. By today's PCGS standards, it should be in a MS-64 RB holder. White stuff is on the holder. Black stuff is on the coin.

1896, one of the far 6 varieties, PCGS and ICCS MS-64 RB. Bought this coin in 1981 from a Chuck Moore mailing list of coins for sale.
