Great backstory again @LaoPhil! I'm just curious as to where/how you got these photos of the models. Did you take them yourself? Is there a story there?

thanks, walk2dwater. I like to search for the original photos used as models to design stamps and banknotes I have in my album. Most of the photos I found in the internet or in old books I buy.

In one case, the Lao woman photo I posted earlier (of the 100 piastre banknote), I received from her granddaughter as I wrote in the post. In 2-3 other cases, I contacted the families and ask for information and photos.

Here for instance a banknote of 0.5 Lira issued by Israel in 1958 shows young girl serving in the Israeli Nahal brigade (Israeli Brigade that combined combined military service and establishment of new agricultural communities) + the photo probably used as a model, published in Israel in many sites and books:

Thanks walk2dwater for the info on that Jamaican dollar! I was just looking for a clear Coat of Arms.
LaoPhil, that is awesome dedication finding the photos and background. That is the kind of stuff that should be in a book of your own sometime. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much, Diverdude and CelticKnot, for your kind words. Indeed, in the past, I have written several articles about my banknotes mainly, Laos banknotes.

Here are banknotes of 1, 10 and 20 Nakfa from Eritrea show women of different ethnic groups.

Golda Meir (1898 - 1978), an Israeli politician who served as the fourth prime minister of Israel from 1969 to 1974. She was the first woman to become head of government in Israel. Here is a banknote 0f 10 New Sheqalim first issued in 1985. It replaced the banknote of 10,000 old Sheqalim shows same designs from both side:
