Maybe you should do what I did once and get coins from a bank branch that is a bit further away from the branches you usually get coins from.

I call this a bank run and I went on one when I was collecting Twenty Cents. My idea was that if I went to different branches and got coins, my chances of getting the coins I didn't have would change. And believe it or not, that actually worked. Maybe it would work for you?

I've often wondered what distances coins travel between depositing, rolling, and re-issuing at a branch. I guess it depends on where the coin sorting facilities are. Also heard that Armaguard has taken over Prosegur in Oz.

Doesn't Armaguard supply CBA and NAB (maybe Suncorp)? and Prosegur supplies Westpac and its sister branches?

But either way, Armaguard is definitely working for me in terms of weird finds.

So far the weird finds I've found (by roll) are:

FIVE CENTS:

Too many NZ 5c
A 1979 Malaysian 10 Sen (yes sen, not cent)
A 1984 10 centimes from Switzerland (how on earth that got in despite not having a milled edge is beyond me)
A 1969 and 2013 Fiji 5 cents (not actually in a roll, the 1969 was in my wallet when I first started collecting and the 2013 I found in the reject chute of a coin count machine)

TEN CENTS:

Too many New Zealand 10c (both the One Shilling and post 1969 versions. I did find a 2000 10c that I have a slight feeling is a mule. @Princetane can you help me out?)
A 1 dirham coin from the United Arab Emirates (I think it has a 1mm difference in thickness)
A five cent lodged onto one end

Twenty Cents:

WAY too many pre-1990 20 cent coins (if this was the 1960s with the amount of NZ 20c I have, I could go to like 50+ restaurants/cafes for a decent meal)
A New Zealand FLORIN from 1962 ( darn it if only it were silver)
A Fijian 20 cent from 1973
A whole bunch of NCLT from 2015 and 2018

FIFTY CENTS:

A very oxidised Fijian 50 cent from 1975
A bunch of NCLT from 2018

What about youse?

Good idea OzCollection. My biggest problem at the moment is that now I'm down to noodling $1 and $2 I don't get many coins for $500 or even $1000.

Yes, there's plenty of kiwi coins in circulation in Australia.

In regards to one dollar coins I occasionally find Solomon Islands $2 coins amongst them:

Not really. Solomon Islands $2 coin is only worth about 36 cents AU.

Day 234

Just 5 rolls of dollar coins to noodle today.

Hadn't found one of these 2020 QANTAS coins for a while. About the only coin which seemed low mintage when it was released that the RAM reckons still is low mintage.

Also found a nice 1999 Year of the Older Persons dollar coin:

Total number of one dollar coins noodled: 30920
Number of different circulation coins found: 133/134
2019 A-Z coins found: 25/26

Found this on eBay, maybe they are in the wild?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2021-Au...60669?tmp=no
Maybe originally from a mint set that was spent or stolen?
You would think you would have come across some by now, none surfacing in my part of the world?
The seller has another for sale.
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165796507370?tmp=no
I have messaged this seller about the coins and they state that they have come from circulation.

Day 243

Noodled 13 rolls of dollar coins but didn't find much.

Hadn't seen many rabbit ears lately. These are both 2016 coins, the smaller "flea ear" on the left is pretty common. Pity the rabbit ear on the right is so grubby.

Total number of one dollar coins noodled: 31180
Number of different circulation coins found: 133/134* (as crab eater said above 2021 MORs may be in circulation)
2019 A-Z coins found: 25/26
2021 A-Z coins found: 26/26
2022 A-Z coins found: 26/26
NCLT coins found: 26
Mule dollars found: 1

Finding plenty of 2020 and 2022 MORs but no sign of the mythical 2021.

2019 A-Z coins found: 25/26
2021 A-Z coins found: 26/26
2022 A-Z coins found: 26/26
NCLT coins found: 26
