Very nice picture (beautiful coin as well!). I like the black felt and diffuser using the milk jug. I had tried something similar before (I think it was an idea of Darth Morgan) using a yogurt cup for a smaller setup, but only using an iPhone 4s at the time I never got pics as good as the one you posted.
I am thinking of taking some wood scraps, making a "frame" on top to hold the iPhone 7s I am now using, and maybe even mount the ring light to the front so the phone is not clamped to the light. Just convenience. It would be great to be able to just put the phone in place, turn on the light and have everything perfectly set up...also easy!

Good book choice as a stand !! Issac Asimov is a perfect choice, although I would have probably picked prelude to Foundation as the stand. Yes while Nemesis technically leads to Foundation (well the 2nd foundation) , prelude is a better start to the series. Hence it would make a better stand Great pictures by the way.

Great pictures by the way. I was wondering if another Asimov fan would make a comment And I agree with everything else you said about the books! But I had just been unpacking boxes and so Nemesis was handy at the time! Personally I also have to admit Nemesis was harder than any of this other works for me to read. Some chapters of the book, to me, had a feeling like they were added content just to lengthen the time time between reading about one theme vs. the other. That was his only book I remember feeling this way about. Right now I am going back through a collection of his first publications and enjoying it. I know...weird, but one of my favorite books (set of three in one) is his "Understanding Physics" series. He is the only author I have personally read who starts at the very beginnings of each topic he covers and shows how modern theory developed from that. When I used to teach physics I used his ideas and approach to help the kids get interested and make it easier to understand.

Thanks for the info. I use my old iPhone X. I'm gonna try the bottle cap method next time.

Earle, considering the light source Larry Niven's Ringworld would also have been an appropriate choice!

I acquired one of these ring lights and it works very well. Unfortunately, my iPhone is in an Otterbox, and the clamp of the light doesn't quite open enough to accommodate it well. Will post some pics after after I get the kinks worked out. Thank you to everyone for their helpful advice on this topic.

Hello everyone. I had started using this method minus the bottle cap and my pictures came out much better so I'll make sure to do the bottle cap this time and see how the results turn out. I will let you know and thanks for the insight
