Today I received a 2010 P yosemite quarter. It filled a hole in my ATB folder.

I found a 1957-D Wheat cent cleaning lockers at work today. I know it's a common date, but it's still a Wheat cent and over 60 years old - and probably in VF-XF condition too!

As an Australian, we had Pounds Shillings and Pence before 1966. I can remember as a kid being given a silver shilling in change - normal legal tender at the time.
The date? 1819, a British .925 sterling silver shilling of George 111, from what I can remember, condition EF perhaps 40.

I am excited any time a Wheat cent is found. They are nowhere near as common as we like to think they are. Sure, there are buckets of them at a coin show, but they are not showing up in Kroger every day.

Not my experience but IIRC RobFindsTreasure tends to find about half a dozen or so Wheat cents per box. 6 coins out of 2,500.

Going back through my own rolls of coins I'd saved from circulation (and lockers, floors, sidewalks, etc.) over the years, I'd completely forgotten that I'd found and saved a 1944-D silver nickel back in 2014. There was also a 1962-D silver quarter I'd found at a Coinstar machine last year that had made it into a roll.
