Page # 22 Not sure what you mean by supro (nickels) exactly. But they use 75% copper/25% Nickel in their nickels. (except War Nickels which were different Type 2 1942-1945 nickels)

How can you tell if a coin was altered, if it is a split off planchet? note the coin. uneven strikes are noticed on the error coins. on polished off coins, they are usually flat looking with no ghost images showing. http://goccf.com/t/435064#3738464What can happen on a thinner planchet? weight will be different and if rim is missing on one side, it was probably altered. http://goccf.com/t/435064#3738464What is DDD on the single squeeze dies? What could be the cause of doubled dies on the single squeeze process?http://goccf.com/t/434983#3738756Why are some devices smaller than others, and why are some devices larger than others? Grease Fill and polished die affects on devices http://goccf.com/t/435039#3738768 Can more than one die event happen on a die at the same time? yes. Some events are removed by polishing, even DDD can be polished away, but it weakens the devices when then happens. http://goccf.com/t/435094#3738776

What causes a bubble on clad coins? usually the coin is heat, like in a house fire or a campfire. Just a damaged coin now. Still spendable though. (face value now only) http://goccf.com/t/435310#3740888What is the Blakesley affect on a Straight and Curved Clips on coins? the weaker edge affect at 180 degrees across the coins rim direction. http://goccf.com/t/435269#3740897Where are the feeder fingers located? part of the machine that feeds and ejects the pre/post struck planchet/coins. http://goccf.com/t/336589&whichpage=2#3740905What is the difference between die cracks and retain cuds on coins? that die area will move, altering the die coins struck with that die. this happens as the die crack gets so deep into the die, that a separation of the areas are affected. eventually when the die breaks away, then it will be a full cud. http://goccf.com/t/435295#3740925 What is a swollen master hub? The master hub was used to create the year dies in the past without the two last digits. Seems this stopped in 1983 with a new master hub created on the cents master hub. http://goccf.com/t/435277#3740928What is a metal detector find? an altered surface coin that was found outdoors http://goccf.com/t/435334#3740933 How to speed up the searches on the 1972 cents? look at the '9' on the date. http://goccf.com/t/435248#3740970

Why do dies show die wear? because of the higher numbers of struck coins, that go through the same repeated procedure over and over. http://goccf.com/t/435369#3741785

What is flat field doubling, and why it this not a doubled die? FFD happens during the strike, and not a die issue, but machine movement issue during the strikes (proof coins are struck twice or more on some designs) http://goccf.com/t/435610#3743975 What causes die cracks on certain areas of the design, seen on later die state coins?(even on Nickels) The weakening and die events of the aging die states. also figure in die cracks, thus the die are still used, and more die cracks can appear. http://goccf.com/t/435658#3744549

Lamination and split planchet coinsWhat causes a split planchet? thick lamination errors and location of the clip of the blanks. http://goccf.com/t/435904#3746944Weakened incuse devices, cause? Why can incuse devices be weakened? die polishing will affect these devices and weaken/remove these form the working die. http://goccf.com/t/435898#3746961Lighting and reflectionsHow is lighting different on incuse and raised devices? Raised devices will show on one side, incuse will show on an opposite side. http://goccf.com/t/435900#3746970Using two light sources defeats this theory.

Machine doubling on a 1958-D cent? Why is Machine Doubling common? caused by the machine with slight looseness of the machine. happens on normal and doubled dies. but never creates a doubled die. a doubled die is caused on the die, not by the machine. http://goccf.com/t/436051#3748156Master hub enhancements seen on a 1944 cent, (channeling and date areas)What is master hub enhancement, and how is it seen on the coins struck with a fresher die? The fresher dies will show the enhances done one on the earlier die examples. on this coin the areas around the date and forehead. master die enhancements, that still show on earlier die states of altered master hub die issues. http://goccf.com/t/436056#3748163Die States and Die Stages question:What is the difference between "Die States" and "Die Stages"? states= the die aging process, stages=die event that happen to a die that are really noticed http://goccf.com/t/434811#3748748

2008 Arizona Quarter with Incuse devices on the ribbon Why are incuse devices enlarged on Machine Doubling? Machine Doubling enlarges incuse devices on coins, die doubling will be seen as a reduction in size on these devices. just the opposite on raised devices. http://goccf.com/t/436069#37489642009 Lincoln cent DDR'sWhere are the DDR's on the 2009 Lincoln cent DDR's? check the listings to see where to look on each design on the single squeeze dies. best to know what to look for on the single squeeze dies. http://goccf.com/t/435468#3748968

1972 plain Eisenhower dollars:1972 plain (Philly) Eisenhower dollar types. What to look for on each type http://goccf.com/t/436194#37498811943 steel/copper cent '3' design. (what to look for on these? What does the shape of the '3' on the 1943 cents look like up close? best to see the differences in shape up close on a high dollar coin. Then you will know what is normal or not? http://goccf.com/t/436215#37498881964 SMS cents?Would SMS cents be found in circulation on the 1964 cents? probably not. But these are in very early die states and were limited to certain on getting these. So they would not be spent as change. Die state and markers would be seen on these. http://goccf.com/t/436242#3749978
