Nice coin Spruett. Quote: how can a coin with 4 sides have a diameter? I have wondered about diameters on non round coins. Do they measure the widest part or the narrowest part. Quote: Aussie for a golf club? . And there I was think it was only Americans that didn't know how to spell. Quote: Not really. We've had GM's cornered before. True, but I'm just being courteous. Now I have to find a coin.

Quote: Is that new equipment? Nope, just my phone. I was planning on using the DSLR because I have other coins to photograph, but you guys guessed it before I got around to that. Quote: I have wondered about diameters on non round coins. Do they measure the widest part or the narrowest part. I can tell you that the previous coin measures 20mm side-to-side and 24mm corner-to-corner, so I guess they use the smallest measurement.

I've had dodecagons and the like that Numista lists the diameter but they won't fit a coin capsule for that size so guess they take the distance between flat faces. Not sure how consistent it is. Should measure a UK 50p later on and compare to Numista.
