Hi Sap To answer about taking my "dump" coins to the same bank that I collect from... A couple of years ago I came to an arrangement with this bank that I could have a sealed bag of £250.00 from them as long as I replaced them "like for like" , so that they still had the same amount in stock for customers that needed them. But times change and due to a large staff turnover and a new manager it looks as if I shall have to go back to my old ways & just get £20 or £30 each week from them. I also have a different "dump" bank but they have a limit per day. Merv

Well done, Merv4468 - you are lucky to get three Olympic coins in a sample that size!
I went to a local coffee morning yesterday and spotted three Beatrix Potter 50p's in the saucer for the money: a 2016 Anniversary coin, a Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and a 2017 Tale of Peter Rabbit. I left them in the wild for someone else to find!

I'm hoarding all I get at the moment, hopefully I'll have enough "posts" soon and be allowed to start swapping. (if there is anybody out there in North America that wants modern UK)

In your hunting can you note if you find any 2020 Royal Shield 50 pence coins since rumour has it that those started to show up but so far no one has posted pictures of finding them.

Hi kena I have not seen a 2020 shield yet but it looks like there were 46,540,375 minted for circulation so they should turn up soon.

Well done on finding three Olympic coins, Merv! I haven't found one for ages now. Unfortunately one local bank that I used a lot in the past for coin hunting has just turned itself into a 'digital branch' and they now just have ATMs and staff standing around generally looking helpful, but no counter and no coins...

The cash machine at work is broken, I've been helping count the money. Which is either a nuisance or a blessing depending on your point of view.
Out of approx £15000 in coin in the last week or so, I've found 6 olympic 50p, some new 2020 50p (which I didn't know were out) - two Commonwealth Games 2002 £2 - and not one single Alphabet 10p! Also completely absent are the jubilee 2022 50p - despite being "available" at post offices for the last few months.
I hope it's fixed soon as it's costing me a fortune to keep all the commems :(

In our neck of the woods before Covid started, they stop counter services in several of the different banks on Saturday (found that out when I tried to deposit the US Covid stimulus that I got since I am still a US tax payer.
When into town a while back and discovered that counter services are no longer present.
No idea how I would go about paying in a check from the USA in the future....guess one of the staff who try to look helpful can point me to the right machine and show me how to use it.

Thanks all for the comments. I found a 2009 Kew Gardens in a bag from one of the banks about 4 or 5 years ago that gave me a warm glow for a while now i'll be very lucky to see one with the price they are fetching on ebay. I'm still trying to get a set of the Olympic Games for swapping & only need a few to complete it. I still have not seen a 2022 Platinum Jubilee or the 2020 shield yet. Here is the latest report of findings MAY 2022 from £370.00 2000 Public Libraries (3) 2004 Sub Four Minute Mile 2005 Johnson's Dictionary (3) 2006 Victoria Cross - Medal (2) 2006 Victoria Cross - Soldier (2) 2010 Girl Guides 2011 Olympic Games London 2012 - Volleyball (2) 2016 Battle of Hastings 2017 Beatrix Potter - Benjamin Bunny (4) 2017 Beatrix Potter - The Tale of Peter Rabbit 2018 Beatrix Potter - The Tailor of Gloucester 2018 Paddington Bear - Buckingham Palace 2019 Paddington Bear at the Tower of London 2019 Sherlock Holmes 2020 Brexit (3) 2020 Diversity Built Britain (3) 1998 Britannia in almost unused condition JERSEY 1998 In one bag there were 6 LARGE (old type). These were instead of 10 smaller ones. They weigh about the same as 10 small ones. It cost me £5.00 for the 6 large, the pain was eased a bit when I saw that 3 of the dates were hole fillers for my collection. 1976 (old, large type) 1977 (old, large type) 1973 European Union - Hands (old, large type) (2) 1980 (old, large type) 1982 (old, large type) Thanks Merv
