I recently purchased a Washington quarter album about halfway full. And in the corner slot that shows the reverse of the coin was a MS coin. I never thought twice to look at it till 6 months later, when a new friend asked if I had any extras. I sent him photos of the coin in particular and he brought it to my attentiona few days later and multiple confirmed look overs by respected people of the field. I bring it to the forms for yours. Please ask anything u may feel u need to or please let me know you opionin on the grade.

If that last pic is a close up of your coin, you quite possibly could have a re-engraved tail feathers variety. It would def be worth sending it in for a professional opinion and encapsulation.

Very nice find! I look for these too, and they seem to be quite rare.

Very nice! Looks as nice as mine! I will be sending mine in soon. I paid a lot more for mine than you did. Congrats! Also coop. The two die states you posted are two different dies. The VLDS coin is mislabeled and not the RED.

Good call. The mintmark locations are different. Also nice to know that there are more than one die that had the same engraving. (Which now inspires me to see how many other examples that year were found? (Always something new to discover)

@Vxdevilsragexv: I am one a few crazy guy with the Quarters and Halves. I look at your coin, I download and look again from different points, even I change the light and resolution.

Appearances tell you it is an MS, sorry is not. Could be take like an AU. signs are there.

Now the interesting fact. Stipulated FS xxxx. No do not matter for me except if it is or not. I can make here all the history of strike on those years, but do not affect your coin. Is true Anvils' was reengraved at one point at the end of the year. How many?!!? no one know exact this. Some signs which COOP put are true for some of the anvils', but not exclusive for all. So what is your coin?:

Me I see an re-polish and not an re-engraving anvils'. Marks?! yes. The leaves over the A and double LL in Dollard. Those leaves are originals and are the first to deteriorate on the 1956-1964 quarters. Other thing: The Beck and the feather behind on the head of the eagle is original anvil hub press (also those was re-engraved).

So please give me an overcome on this and maybe better photos if possible.

Welp, I discovered the first to be graded and attributed by any TPG. Picked for $5, sold for $4,500. I've got a few more laying around. The one in the photo is the FS-901 without question. I don't know what the other fellow is saying? As far as grade I'd need better photos but typically the cap is a 64. Best odds would be to submit twice, first without the attribution as rumor is they're harder on the varieties.
