Found this penny go ok go through my coins. While the be front is badly damaged you can see the S. I do not have my microscope yet I can't decipher the year. Thoughts ?

Is not S and it is very bad damage coin. Just a spender if you can.

It's a 1981 D IMO and badly damaged not worth the time placing it under your microscope (when it arrives) just spend it and forget it.

to CCF good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking when needed...

It is all damaged. Like a wrecked car, that is not a factory error. Post strike damage is not a mint error. Parking lot find.

I agree with the above but would only note that since this coin isn't made with copper plating over a zinc core, it cannot be dated 1985.

I agree with all of the above. One mess of a coin, definitely post mint damage. Not an S and the D for Denver can plainly be seen. Keep searching!
