Introductory Note: I have posted about many different aspects of the history of US commemorative coins here in the US Commemoratives area of CCF, most with "Commems Collection" in their title to enable automatic inclusion on the "Commems Collection" list created by Bobby. That's one in my 7070 Type set.
Combination of Classic obverse and reverse Modern style design, not many coins has the same great affect.

It is a beautiful design and your example is a beautiful coin. Being originally from San Francisco, this coin and one for the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937 would have made a nice set. Perhaps there will be pair in 2036 and 2037.
