Got this in my change today. I've not seen one like this before, any idea what caused it? Some sort of strike error? It's kind of like a septagon shape with the inside of it being metal folded over Her Majesty's ear. Looks like it has been there from the beginning as you can see the mark on the reverse.

Looks like damage. Almost like a counterstamp.
Something has been punched onto the face.
This is something that could not of happened during
the the striking of the coin so it cannot be an error.
