1893 Columbian Quarter Isabella

Just like the Columbian Expo half you posted, this coin has a remarkable amount of detail in the hair and other areas despite being obviously worn with no luster. Without an accurate weight, I'm not convinced of authenticity.

Hard to find these without some sort of cleaning.
Most of those folks who didn't know much about coin collecting in the first 40 years after they were issued
thought they were special (which is true), and thought they should be improved if they should be kept shiny, and so they were cleaned.

Which is a pity, as far as the modern collector is concerned.

Although a lot of the value is lost, I will still be perfectly happy to have an example (albeit cleaned), in my collection.
At least, I should be able to buy it at a lower price.

some nice details on that coin. But definitely cleaned - and not very well at that.

Looks like Sap is right;
It does have a rather 'pasty' appearance of a diecast fake.
