Just a circulated example of this common date, worth no more than face value.

Now that one looks like a XF-40 to me
Less of the high points are worn down like your first one, but still a spender.

to help you save some time and to help you learn more about coins you can go to most coin shops and buy a book to explain grading and pricing but of course there are people here to help as well

Nice photography! But in the future, please crop you photos to the edges of your coin. Thanks. As mentioned, your coin is of average circulation of a common date. Value is one cent. For your reference, you can check eBays sold listings for average values. Hope this helps.

when trying to figure out the condition of the coin, I am a picture person.

PCGS provides pictures on what a coin would grade.
It is called PCGS PHOTOGRADE ONLINE https://www.PCGS.com/photograde#/Lincoln/Grades

The site also has a price guide.

and in case you are unaware of varieties, check out these websites:
varietyvista.com http://varietyvista.com/
coppercoins.com http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php
doubleddie.com https://doubleddie.com/228401.html

and for understanding varieties and errors check out this site https://www.error-ref.com/

good luck on future finds

EDIT: changed site from home page to photograde page
