I've got a 1989 quarter, and there seems to be a mistake with minting that caused the F in United states of America to be fused with the edge of the coin. I tried researching the coin but couldn't find any with the same mistake, is it worth anything?

I'm having trouble posting images, hopefully this will work (if it doesn't then disregard anything after this)

I looks like the rim took a hit and the metal folded over onto the F. Can you post up a picture of the edge where the F is? also a full coin reverse obverse image.

Ok yep I agree with @dear that you have a rim bruise—damage rather than an error.
