Hi Again,
Found this 1977 D nickel with this interesting patina. Is there a chance this is a lamination issue on both sides or just environmental/corrosive? It does show some crackling that looks like possibly lamination peeling?! It weighs 4.98 grams. Thanks again in advance. I tried to get some good magnified pictures.

All I see are odd environmental stains. Tweezers are not the best device to hold a coin with.

Ouch--tweezers. Metal-on-metal.

Staining, I believe. For fun, try giving the coin a long soak in 100% acetone. Might remove some of the apparent gunk.

I agree with above.

Maybe dip the tweezer tips in some "tool Grip in a can" type of product or get rubber-coated ones?
