I dug this 1820 Capped Bust Dime while metal detecting (YouTube video attached) and posted it on Treasurenet.com (post also attached) and was told to post on a coin forum to see if it could be a rare variety? I'm not a numismatist, so if any collectors or experts could comment I would greatly appreciate it.

Your photos are a bit lacking in detail, and I do not have an attribution guide, but looking strictly at the photos on the NGC Variety Plus for Early Dimes photos I believe it is a JR2.

From that link, click on the photo for 1820 Small O JR-2. On the reverse, focus on "STATES OF AMER" and "PLURIBUS". Notice the alignment of the E in STATES relative to the B in PLURIBUS and compare that to your coin. They are almost exactly left aligned (left of E above left of B). Only JR 2, 6 & 10 have that alignment.

Next, look at the position of the O relative to the F in OF. Your coin has the O and F offset, which excludes JR-6 and JR-10.

And now I just noticed that the M and E in AMERICA are joined on the JR-2 (and the M may be doubled), and none of the other varieties, so that should settle it.

Oh, and I should say. awesome find. I haven't done any detecting in the last couple years because of back problems, but I would LOVE to find a coin like that. Especially in that condition. Congratulations.

It looks like JR-2, rarity 3.

In the word AMERICA, the letters M and E are joined.
