While it's really difficult to give specific indications without seeing which actual coins you've got, I will say that a bad cleaning job can destroy 50 to 90% of the numismatic premium of a coin - that is, the value above scrap metal value a coin collector is willing to pay. What percentage this is of the total value of the coin, depends on the composition of the coin in question (gold, silver or base metal).
