This one looks interesting.
It resembles Doubleddies # 1989 (P) WDDR-016 but this one also has two smaller bars just north of it running the same direction.

At first I used a couple of toothpicks trying to smash them. All it did was to clean/polish them.

Nothing listed for 1989 D like this.

What do you think DDR or not?

Rob, give us a nice clear pic of this area, and not so small as the full coin shots.

@makecents. Sorry Jon it took a while. This in house domestic stuff is taking up too much time. Like I said I'd rather be out on the tractor or like you digging a hole for no reason.

These are about the best pictures I can get. If all together they're too small.
I see what you're looking for in bay 7. That's why I'm questioning if it's DDR. I just couldn't smash it in like bay 7.

Thanks for the extra pics, Rob. It could be. I was actually looking more for abrasions but the plating bubbles are an issue too, sometimes. I run across these so often, I don't pay much attention to them anymore.

It is a DDR. The angle is showing that the hub was slightly rotated, then straitened back up when the full pressure created the single strike of the new die. We see some neat ones of these:

The columns are seen on this example.

Extra base of statue, again angled.

Even the slightest wrong position can be corrected with the die creation, but only affects the central area of the design.

Extra feet from mis-alignment.

Steps

So these are DDR's.

CoopHome:How do bar cents on the Memorial design happen? misalignment of the hub during the die creation. this is a one step process, but if the alignment is not correct at the beginning of the working hub process, and snaps into the correct alignment, then these DDR's will be created on the die and show up on the struck cents.
