Hi. My name is Beverly. I inherited my father's collections with coins being one of the many. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1993 and I wasn't able to share this hobby with him. I know nothing about coin collecting. My first project is going through his US Mint 1960 - 1992 Uncirculated Proof and Special sets. My plan is to save one of each completed set and possibly sell the extras. I'm in way over my head. I listed and sold my first two sets (1961 and 1964 Proof) on eBay for an OBO of $15.00 each and was later told that was a lot less than what they were worth.
I continue looking at each set and worry that every flaw could be a coin worth millions or any hint of color or tarnish is a sign of toning. I'm here to ask for help and learn. I'm buying The Official Red Book that was a recommendation by another member. I think I might need to join a club as well. I don't know if I should find a Coin Specialist to look at them, or try to become one myself. I'm not in any hurry to sell them. I think I want to continue where my dad left off. That's my story... Thank you. #128578;
