Fun fact about these: this is the first US federal currency design to use the dollar sign. Before this example came out of the woodwork, the only recorded representative of the design type was a two-sided specimen note in the Smithsonian. Several face proofs of the $100 note with coupons also exist in private hands, but no issued examples of any denomination have ever been seen. I think it's a pretty big find.

A $5 1914 FRN with a Red Seal, scarce today because they were quickly discontinued in favor of a blue seal due to the tendency of the red ink to fade over time and bleed when wet.

Received as a gift. I realize it's a very common item but I'm grateful for it and I like it and find fractional currency very interesting.






But I don't think it would be a very good idea to let this bug bite me.
