Regardless of who the ruler was, King St. László of Hungary was featured on all Hungarian gold coins for 400 (!) years as the embodiment of all virtues and goodness.
This dukát struck between 1482-89 by Matthias Corvinus, with a portrait of St. László on the obverse, when László had been dead for 394 years... I think this is the "living allegories"
