Again I've just looked through this thread and I'm really quite blown away by it!....You must have one of the principal collections of this type around?

It really is an impressive collection, and with excellent cataloging. The only one I know of that might be on par with it is quadran's (Joe's/Q's) at Forum. You both got bit by the same Hungarian bug, it seems.

I have his first 3 catalogues of Arpadian coinage which helps immensely with the sigla variations.

1. 1095-1116 Hungarian Denar under King Coloman;Huszar 42,Unger 34A;CAC Vol. I/11.13/a1c3.1/17. It has a sigla of lines just before 3:00 and after 9:00 as well as a point inside the crescent at 4:00 and a line just after the crescent at about 5:00.





2. Anonymous Hungarian Denar (1116-31,King Stephen II?);Huszar 84,Unger 39,CAC Vol. II/18.4.1.1/b2.1/68. It has a sigla of one cross on both sides of the main cross at about 2:00.





3. Anonymous Hungarian Denar (1131-41,King Bela II?);Variation of Huszar 102,Unger 53. It has a sigla of 2 small wedges at about 12:30 just before the "E". The "E" is reversed.





4. 1131-41Hungarian Denar under King Bela II;Huszar 49,Unger 44,Rethy I-57,CAC Vol. I/13.1/c1.3/15. It has a sigla of one small line at about 5:00.





5. 1373-82 Hungarian Denar under King Louis I;Huszar 547 var,Unger 432var,Pohl 89-1 var. It has a star in the legend between REGIS and HUNGARIE on reverse.





6. 1462 n-E Hungarian Denar under King Matthias Corvinus;Huszar 704,Unger 555g,Pohl 204-7.





7. 1463 B-I Hungarian Denar under King Matthias Corvinus;Huszar 706,Unger 556b,Pohl 206-2. It is a variation with the "N" missing from MONETA on obverse.

The other 2 are after 1600 and are on the world coins page.

Thank you,Spence. That is as simplistic as it gets. At the time they were using a combination of crescents to make the "S's".

3. 1235-70 Hungarian Denar under King Bela IV;Huszar 244,Unger 213,Rethy I-229,CAC Vol. III/22.24.1.1/2.1/a3.1/1.8.





4. 1267-70 h-R Slavonian Denar under Henrik Nemeajvari Ban as vassal of Bela IV Crown Prince. of Hungary;Unger Sz 11.





5. This is an interesting one. A 1387-89Hybrid Hungarian Denar (billon) under King Sigismund of Luxemburg;Huszar 575 obv/576 rev,Unger 448 obv/449 rev,Pohl 116 obv/117 rev,Lengyel (Ezustkonyv III) 27/2/1. The "I" is missing from SIGISMUND(I). It is not in the old catalogs.





6. 1495/96 K-M/AF/B Hungarian Denar under King Wladislaus II;Huszar 803,Unger 638d,Pohl 238-3. It is a variant with a smaller "B" in the mint mark.





7. 1517 K-G Hungarian Denar under King Louis II;Huszar 841,Unger 673m,Pohl 255-1. It is a variant with VNGARI/VNGARIE in the legend.





8. 1569 K-B Hungarian Denar under King Maximilian;Huszar 992,Unger 766a.

the other one is after 1600 and is in the world coins.

5. Anonymous Hungarian Denar (1131-41,King Bela II?);Var. of Huszar 97,Unger 49,Rethy I-83,CAC Vol. II/18.11.1.1/c2.1/50. It has a sigla of one small line above and below thhe horizontal cross bar to the left of the wedges on the right.





6. 1479-86 K-P Hungarian Denar under King Matthias Corvinus;Huszar 719,Unger 565b,Pohl 221-1.





7. 1527 K-T Hungarian Denar under King John Zapolya,Huszar 881,Unger 699l,Pohl 265-14.





8. 1527 C-M Hungarian Denar with a legend variation of 2 rosettes under the Madonna,King John Zapolya;Huszar 881,Unger 699a,Pohl 265-3.

The other 2 are after 1600 and in the world coins.

You have a fantastic collection of Hungarian coins Eddie, I enjoyed checking this thread out. I really like that coin with the marten on the obverse and the two busts on the reverse, that one just made my coin list!
