Someone asked me to show more coins from my collection.
Here is the 1894 VG08 coin. Why did she get a grade instead of a Det? There is damage on it and it is very serious.

Might be a significant strike thru error. Can you get a closeup pic of that spot on the rev?

Unfortunately, I don't have access to my coin right now. I can only show it:

Increasingly active. What can you say about the coins above? What is your opinion?

This thread was started when I was busy collecting examples of all the less common reverse transition varieties (1899-1905). I think this was my latest acquisition back in January 2021. 1903-S Rev3 "thick ribbon", PCGS VG Damage (but cheap!). These are fairly scarce.

It sounds like something serious and requires a lot of effort and time.

It took me about a year and a half to get the ones I wanted (at the price I wanted to pay). It's like cherrypicking but without the extra value. I enjoyed doing it and it makes a fun little "type set". Show us more of yours! Must take some work to get them in Russia.
