Looks MS-64 all day long. Can't tell DMPL or PL from these photos.

I'm not seeing PL surfaces but that is best judged in hand. typical sharp strike. should make MS64 on a crossover. its a gamble

I would keep it in the anacs holder if it's 64 DMPL . I love the holders and though hard to see for sure do not see it grading higher with PCGS

I lean toward leaving well enough alone.

Might be worth the gamble but PCGS might say it's MS63PL

I'd say keep it as is if you aren't looking to sell it.

I also agree with Frog, not worth the gamble.

The chances of it crossing to DMPL at today's standards is slim. Back when this coin was graded the PL and DMPL standards were a bit looser. Then factor in toning of the coins surfaces since it was slabbed 20 odd years ago. My vote is let the sleeping dog lie.

If your goal is to get it into the same holder as your other Morgans, but you don't want to risk losing the MS64 or DMPL - why not just pick the option of having it returned in the current holder if it doesn't cross? There doesn't seem to be any gamble there, you're just out the grading & shipping costs.

Yes kbbp11..Very Good Point!
Just wanted to hear that as that's the policy with PCGS.
Do we think it will cross at a higher grade? NO!
However, if it crossed at the same grade with DMPL, we would
be very pleased with the outcome. It still is a tough decision as per what others opinions have indicated.
It's a nice coin with no plans of selling for profit or anything of that nature...Strictly for investments of our coins hopefully for another 15 or 20 years...pass it on to our children etc!...

We appreciate everyone's opinions and professional aptitude.
It's always helpful...

Unlikely the coin will cross at grade with DMPL designation because PCGS has strict mirror standards for DMPL and they will be viewing through plastic. Your best options would be to sell the coin and buy one in a PCGS holder or leave as is.

Send it in as crossover for MS6X PL. If it does not cross, it stays in the original holder.

What is more important?
The holder or the coin?
