What about those Kiwi coins, are they being kept - or also left to endless purgatory in Australia - LOL!
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

It's eternal purgatory for those illegal foreigners. The lucky ones pass through the fires of purification at RAM to be reborn as shiny new Australians.

Fijian coins pop up from time to time - much less common than the New Zealand stuff by a wide margin.

Hi Steve,

Not at present. Just finished end of month mortgage payment so nothing in the bank till next Wednesday.

Hope you're alright. Haven't seen you on the board for a while and sent you an e-mail a few days ago. Been some wild weather around Perth.

David

After a period of non-noodling I picked up a bag of 500 20c coins. A shiny 1981 specimen and some nice commemoratives. Not to mention a kiwi coin that's had a hard life!

Total 20c coins noodled = 11040
Total no. of 1966 coins = 165

Number of wavy coins = 0

Running out of time to get my wavy in 2021!

Nice 81 and a centenary 20c is always a good find. Too many of those ugly Kate and Wills ones though. Whoever designed that needed to be slapped!

Beginning 4 May 2016, I was on the same quest, although to keep my sanity I thought of it more as noodling 20 cent coins to see what interesting coins I could find rather than concentrating solely on finding that mythical wavy.

To cut a long story short I noodled 55,880 20c coins of which 878 where 1966 coins before finally finding the elusive wavy on 5 October 2018.

The harsh reality is the longer you go without finding one the less likely you are of ever doing so because every year tens of millions more non-wavy coins are released into circulation, while the limited amount of wavys out there is decreased by those lucky and dedicated enough to find one.

But you'll NEVER find one if you don't keep looking, so chin up and good luck on your quest.

@MachinMachinMan - Thanks for the encouragement. Money is really tight until the end of the year so I don't like my chances of noodling the little blighter in 2021. 2022 should see a lot more noodling activity.
