I am in central Minnesota. Almost all rolls are locally recycled. Rarely does our bank get new rolls.

I'm in Southwest Virginia and have been searching various denominations for about ten years. It's been fun to find reoccurring varieties and errors here.

While I've not been a roll searcher for many, many years, I took early retirement and moved to central Arkansas a few years ago and I'm thinking about starting up again. I'm in an area that has a large number of retired folks (I think the median age in my town of 14,000 people is around 68 or so), so I'm thinking I need to start checking out the local banks for rolls of half dollars and such.

I had a teller share stories about middle aged people dumping rolls at bank branches in communities where the median age was on the high side. The rolls would come in after aged parents/uncles/aunts passed away. Family members would roll coins they found as property was organized and disposed of. The teller came across all kinds of interesting things--silver, foreign, boatloads of pre 40s wheat cents, etc.

I use to do it in Athens, GA. But since I move to New York, I just couldn't make it work (no dump bank). One has finally opened up with free coin counting, and now I can't get rolls. So I just order wheat bag now.
