Has anyone seen a mint mark like that before and been an authentic Morgan? The weight is accurate and it passes the magnet test. I'm not sure if that could be a mushy mint mark or known VAM

It's a round "O" mm. VAMs 2, 18, 27, 51, and 55 have the round "O" with varying date positions.

Depending on your eye sight,a 10x or a 12x should. I use a 14x. A Hastings Triplet is the way to go and B&L is a reasonable priced brand to get.Do not get anything higher than a 14x and if money is an issue, a doublet works well.

typical weak strike for this year at NO mint. the luster does appear to be broken across the cheek and just enough marks here and there to keep it out of the MS64 box imo. it looks like that reverse scratch is on the holder. MS63

I think the cheek holds it to MS-62+. Reverse is really nice.
