I was admonished to add what came in the mail yesterday to the list here. I had not seen this thread before and am amazed at all of the entries!

Here is the full story and original post:

I think it's great that D.L. Hansen has so far not only accumulated 66 of these 100 rarities, but has obtained them in high grades. I have only one of the 100, posted early in this thread.

I don't want this thread to go off on a tangent, but I believe he's a very positive asset for our wonderful hobby.

Great addition @earle.

I wonder, for those of us who don't own the book, has this list been posted somewhere on the interwebs? Even though I'm rarely adding to my US collection, it could be fun to see if I've got more than the two that I see are duplicates for others posted here. Thx.

Steve,
On the Main Coin Forum there is a topic that has a video where Hanson talks about his collection. If you have not seen it, you might enjoy the video.

@Spence, the list of 100 Greatest U.S. Coins is a PCGS registry set so the list can be seen here: https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/fa...osition/1576

@Slider23, thanks, but I watched most of it on that Symposium a week or two ago. I learned a lot about him and his collecting philosophy. I found it fascinating!

Ok thx @ns. I had seen some chatter elsewhere questioning whether the PCGS list and the book list were the same which is why I was asking. I'll check it out though and see what I can add to this thread. For sure it won't be very much.

Looks like I've got only two coins to contribute to this thread, both of which have been previously posted:

1909-S VBD Cent (ANACS EF details; net F12)

1916-D Dime ( PCGS G6)

Most of the other 98 entries are well outside my current collecting interest (not to mention purse size), but I could see myself picking up a Fugio cent at some point. If I do, then I'll be sure to post it here.

I checked the list and as posted above the only 2 I have are the 1909 S VDB and 16 D, all others are outside my current spending patterns.

@hfjacinto - I'd take the over on 2 in terms of how many on the list you end up with
