The 2 smaller indents on the throat just below the chin and above whatever the raised part is are indented but the larger piece which I'm thinking might be maybe either dropped lettering so maybe an O possibly or maybe a Chin I dont know either that or something got stamped in it but its not a nail or staple type thing I just cant figure it out. When I wake up wake up I'll post wrexlers best 2 guesses I saw on that site that were close but was a mix between that and then a dropped letter or piece of a die then clashed in? I dunno figured you guys and gals could bang your head about it for a lil for me lol xoxoxo thanks

A dropped letter would be incuse so it can't be that. Looks like they are small die chips. I see no sign of a clash, just some circulation damage.

Actually, you would have the contest and give the pony to celebrate your milestone of 50 posts. John1

clashes show part of the design of the other side of the coin, your coin has something else going on, the result of a die chip perhaps

I was having trouble wrapping my noggin around this one at first. Here's a link to one-cent overlays at Maddieclashes.com http://www.maddieclashes.com/wp-con...LC-1960b.jpgIf this were a clash, the area under the chin would be from bay #8. The area around the date might be from part of AMERICA. If so, the OP is probably correct about his being an Atypical clash.

Hmmm I might have to send it in and I read on Maddie Clashes that they can be of the front or back centered or way off centered and or mirrored so & I dunno but I'm thinking its got to be an Atypical Clash thats off center maybe and ill put up pictures of the reverse but there isn't a clash on that side its only the front....I think....

There is no evidence of a clash that I can see anywhere. Damage, PSD, just gouges and misplaced metal. The thing you have outlined as a "J" is something laying on the coin. Keep up the search!

For starters "Peterspocket55" thank you for seeing what I'm seeing and thank you for being objective about it and not just thumbing your nose. Ill let you know for sure when I get it back from Maddiesclashes. Secondly ...No there is nothing "laying over the coin" I repeat ...Just so you know the "thing outlined as a J" is NOT something laying on the coin. I will post other pictures tomorrow from different angles. That said.... I find it ...I dunno if wierd is the right word but its ironic or odd that on a forum where people are supposed to learn and guide eachother. I find that the goto answers immediately for 99% of everyone's posts are PMD its comical. However thank the big man upstairs that there are some people who really helpful. They give thoughts or ideas or show you were to read stuff to support why what your thinking is not correct and how to see what is correct and others are just plain negative they just assume things without asking.. (Yes I am reffering to the comment of its something laying over the coin comment. I almost feel like if the person themselves hasn't found it then for sure someone new hasn't found it. Anyhow much respect to you all. I just ask if your going to respond to this thread please respond with actual facts or an actual question like hey I'm thinking this..... could you please confirm with a picture that there is or is not something laying over the coin, so that I could make an intelligent comment that refutes Petespocketss55 thoughts as well as your own. Or could you send another picture at this angle. Anyhow something like that please and thank you or just dont respond at all. Xoxo

This one seems to be an odd one for sure. Most clashes at the throat appear recessed but the 1960D you shared from Maddieclashes is raised under the chin. Looking forward to hearing the outcome on this one when you do send it in. Quote: ... 99% of everyone's posts are PMD.... I understand your frustration but 99% of the "error" coins that get posted are PSD. We all see the same image a little differently sometimes. It's really up to the OP to convince the members and help sort it out. That applies to all of us when we post. I know it's happened to me before. It was up to me to convince everyone what I was seeing and sometimes I'm not successful, but that is on me. It might be die damage but your perseverance in posting additional images and the listing at Maddieclashes made me take a harder look. I'm not 100% convinced it is a clash, but it seems to have potential like the one you posted. It's not a typical "Prisoner Cent" clash that most memorials look like. ps. You really do want as many people as possible to take a look. Each and every one of them. Your last reply was done with respect and brought up good points about asking questions but telling people not to respond might turn lots of people away and that's not a good thing.
