While cents were the starting point for me back in the '60's, I'm now a type collector so I really focus on all denominations. However, at the moment my primary attention is on nickels.

Where is the choice for classic commemoratives? @ Raiden - to the CCF. You can see we have a wide range of experienced collectors here so it's no surprise that your well intended poll solicited some remarks of what was excluded. Hint - collectors refer to pennies as cents. edit for spllgening
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.artToo many hobbies .... too much work .... not enough time.

Silver dimes - preferably with at least some residual luster.

Well the consensus is that many collectors are into a wide variety of different denominations and types of coins . That's what a true collector is all about .

These polls never have every possible choice nor could they. What am I supposed to pick when most of my collection is Canadian? I think the idea is to just pick the best option out of the choices given. "None of the above" should be an option.

Quote: What am I supposed to pick when most of my collection is Canadian? Well, this poll is in a US forum. But... Quote: "None of the above" should be an option. I agree.

True, and it's also the classic and colonials forum. That technically excludes all Lincoln cents etc - stuff that most collectors have. I'm just saying that a lot of "what about this and what about that" isn't particularly useful for poll results.

2 cent pieces. Best coin design the US has ever made. So I couldn't vote.

The 2 cent piece is the best design the US has ever made? You mean even better than the Susan B. Anthony dollar? Really?
