Nice find! If I understand correctly this is a die clash. Thanks for sharing!

Great looking "Bugs". I just did a little search and they've been found on the '56's as well. Great find arby96!

There are many types of the "Bug Bunny" Varity. 1949 through 63. No known 57 or 58. The 1955 is the one that appears to show two teeth from the die clash and the 1956 shows one. Below is the 1955 and 56 variety. These are well known and documented verities all one has to do is look it up.

1955 Verity

1956 Verity

A quick tag on to the topic. I didn't even know that I had this one. I looked at it closely because I thought at first that it was just a shadow but, nope it's a die clash. This one looks like it's going up his nose. WooHoo! That's it from me on this topic. Thanks for inspiring me to look.

Dsking, that is what these sites do, inform and inspire others. There is so much to learn about numismatics, and collecting. I have been collecting since the age of 13 and really got back into it in my late 20's. I learn almost something new every week about coins, errors, verities. Also about how some of those things happen. Keep an open mind and suck the knowledge out of this site. Its rich in information. Thank you CCF for creating a great place to come to, too post and share our passion with others.

Arby96 and Dearborn....thanks for your comments! I too have been collecting since I was 11 years old. I took a hiatus for a while in the 1980's and then joined the CCF in 2006 and took another hiatus from CCF in the mid to late 2000's. YES, there's always something to learn. I knew about the Bugs Bunny but, just never took a long look at my Franklins. I have all of the years and just like the coins and the history of Mr. Franklin.

Our forum has been so helpful and fun over the years! I've developed some great friendships along the way! You folks just get me to thinking about what I may have overlooked with my collections. The ANA has been ever so helpful too.

Thanks again and happy hunting!
