Found this article today...

quote:
OTTAWA, Oct. 26 - The Royal Canadian Mint confirms that a small number of 25-cent alpine skiing coins produced for collector products issued on October 24, 2007 bear a 2008 date on the obverse, or "heads" side of the coin, rather than the 2007 date. This error is limited to alpine skiing coin sports cards sold exclusively at participating Petro-Canada outlets and a small quantity of Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games coin collections. The 22 million 25-cent alpine skiing coins produced for circulation are not affected. The Mint is currently investigating the source of this error and will implement the appropriate measures to ensure it does not occur in the future.

Judging by the number of ebay items and the fact that the first petro canada I went to had plenty of them, I suspect all the petro canada ones are muled, has anyone actually seen a coloured 2007 alpine?

Has anyone confirmed if there are the 2007 dated coloured Alpine in the PETRO pack? Or are they all 2008?

I believe they are all 2007s, and the mule did not occur on the colourized quarters, but as I don't collect the coloured ones, I could be wrong.

Topher, the Mint already confirmed 2008 obverse muled with 2007 Alpine coloured reverse. I'm wondering if any normal 2007 obverse coins were struck at all for the coloured Alpine 25c Petro Canada pack?

That I don't know. Sorry. I've only got the circulation issues, which, of course, are not mules.
