Hello guys,

Here's an interesting one that I haven't been able to find any info on.

I know this date has several varieties of the 9, but I found one that has a normal narrow 9 and a clearly re-punched 5.

If anyone knows something about this variety I would greatly appreciate the info. I am not sure if this one is unique or a recognized variety for this coin.

Thanks!

I see that too, but I cannot find anything on a repunched 5 in Charest's book. Parts of the 9 (narrow?) almost look doubled around the lower portion of the loop.

Yes the 9 has very slight doubling visible under magnification, the 1 and 8 do not and the 5 is a striking double as you see.
I have been trying to attribute a value to it for some time with no luck.
