Your photos make this easy!
1953: NSF
1954 (both): SF
1955: SF

SF= "shoulder fold"; NSF = "no shoulder fold"
Sorry, but yours are the common ones.

Thanks Kurt!

I've recently got me a Canadian album and have been filling in the holes.
I was counting on you.
I try to make it easy as possible.

Hi, Mila, your fist coin is a 1965, pointed 5, large beads,
variety 4
your second coin, looks like to me a 1965, blunt 5, small beads,
variety 2

Hope this helps,
SHAFTA9a

I don't have my book handy to tell if they are large or small beads, but whatever they are, they are the same.

Th Gardmaster Canadian cent album has 2 slots for 1947.

1947
1947 Maple Leaf
What is the difference between the two?

Thanks,

In 1948, the dies were delayed, but there was a need for the coinage, so they used the 1947 dies, but added a little maple leaf to the right of the date. They aren't too hard to find, but then the 1948 gets a bit tougher as it was only minted for a few months.

Thanks Topher. Do you have one of these? Can you post a pic? Or anyone else who has one.

Next question: What are the key dates for Canadian cents?

KurtS... was it you who does overlay for comparisons? I've been trying to figure this out and getting nowhere. How is this done?

Thanks,
mila_

Mila--an overlay? For what year of 1c? I think most varieties can be eyeballed correctly without overlays, although I find 1965 pointed 5 a little tricky.

Thanks for the pic Topher.

I also need a list of key dates.

Is this 1947 maple leaf easily found in circulation?

Kurt.... No just a basic lesson on working with layering.

Mila, I've pulled the occasional one from circulation, but you won't find it every day.
