I think I might have a 1966 silver dollar with the small beads. Is there any way to tell absolutely that it is not a large bead? I don't have any pictures, but it looks very close to a picture I compared it to on the net. If it is a small bead in average condition, how much is it worth?

I can try to describe it, but a macro photo of the word "REGINA" on the obverse would really help, because then other collectors can interpret your coin on their own and reach a consensus. If I said that the "I" in "REGINA" should point at a bead and not between, either you'll think your coin is a SB, or it isn't--you're essentially back where you started. I only say this because I've fooled myself plenty of times by my interpretation--without a consensus from other collectors. Anyway, I'm rambling...As a Canadian variety collector here, I'll say

I guess I have to get a digital camera somewhere. I don't think my scanner would show enough detail. Any suggestions on making a good picture? This coin was found hidden in the wall of a building that was torn down. Seems someone thought it was valuable enough to hide.

It was found when the drywall was pulled down. Someone had put it inside the wall, so that the only way it would be found was to remove the drywall. Does anyone have any suggestions on creating a high quality picture so you guys can take a look at this coin?

Straightarrow--nice story! It's essentially about the equipment available to you. Either you can lay the coin on a scanner or locate a camera with macro capabilities. Basically any camera that can photograph close enough to capture the detail of "REGINA" and the adjacent beads. Not pro quality, but sharp enough to make a call either way--good luck!

I would think a scanner would work just fine. I've had pretty good luck with mine. Its not a catalog quality, but it should be fine for this.
