let's see...

1936 Dot
1947 Maple Leaf Blunt 7
1947 Maple Leaf Pointed 7
1948 2 varieties: A of GRATIA points both to, and between denticles
1949 See 1948
1953 with and without Shoulder Fold
1955 see 1953
1965 Small Beads Pointed 5
1965 Small Beads Blunt 5
1965 Large Beads Pointed 5
1965 Large Beads Blunt 5
1985 Pointed 5

that's just a quick glance through Charlton's. I am sure that a Canadian specialist will know more than me.

It's my understanding that the 1936 raised
dot is very rare, but also can be found on the 10 cent and 25 cent as well as the 1 cent in this same year.Has anybody ever seen one,or own one? :) sn31.

I have seen 2- John Jay Pittman used to own them, and he showed them at one of the CNA Conventions in Ontario. (Toronto?)It was a real treat to see.

Hi sn31, good question and lots of good answers..I'd like to add a recommendation that if you can swing it a Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins would be an invalualble reference and guide for you...I've identified several very nice varieties in junk boxes with the knowedge gleaned from this very readable reference. Here in the southern US there is not a lot of interest in things Canadian, so finds are quite possible.

Love those Canadians, especially the large cents!
Dennis

Good luck

Thank you Dennis.I have since obtained 2 Charltons,in different years, and they are indeed helpful. Here in Okie land, all I seem to find are small cents, and the occassional nickel and quarter.I love those large cents too :) sn31.
