Beauty coins.

I like that 1881 50 cent! What a poor strike that one got. The die must have been worn right off the CEN area.

I'd give it a F-12 grade.

It appears to be common with these coins. Others with a similar problem: British Honduras & Straits Settlements

So a first today. Was picking through some foreign they set aside for me to look at when one of the store managers told another client to "have him look at your coins." She had 5 foreign coins in her box of coins -- a $100 Peso Mexican (1980s), 100 Italian Lire (70s), 50 centavos Mexican (60s), a Franco peseta, and this. I asked the manager if I could make an offer; he agreed. I offered $1 and it was accepted. The client and her friend were astonished that I could identify the other coins.

In the box that was set aside for me to review, there was $3.70 face in Canadian. 12 dimes, including a 191[6]?, 1929, 1940, 1944, and 1948. 8 quarters, including a no-date George V, and a 1938, 1940, and 1949. Also a 1944 half, which finished off my George VI roll. The other silver dates were E II. I paid $50.

Splurged today. Upgraded the '45 quarter and started going older in halves. Became more interested in small nickels.
