My friend twisted my arm and got me to go out for beers yesterday. Glad I did now because I got this back in my change. The waitress always looked at me funny when I looked at my change before giving her the tip.

Bm0ney, I think that polymer would be a 3 digit repeater, I'm still searching for a polymer radar for my collection. Has anyone noticed that the front and back plate numbers are the same on the polymers, where they were different on the previous paper notes ?

I'm new to coin roll hunting and coin collecting, but signed up just so I could share my find. The demise of the penny prompted me to buy a few boxes and finally organize the stash I had been randomly throwing into cookie tins since I was a kid.

I found a 1937, 1941, 1942, 1943 Canadian penny all in the same roll! I even found a pointy 1985.

In the next roll I found a 1919 American Wheat penny. I don't normally collect US coins, but then when I opened the next 8 rolls, they were all US pennies from pretty much 1950 onwards, with some 1940s and 1930s thrown in.

I'm pretty excited to see what the remaining boxes will yield.

It feels like I took a crash course in coin collecting for the last 3 weeks and now I am hooked.

Just in time for the end of the Canadian penny, eh?

Fortunately I live close to the US and will be popping over to pick up US penny rolls to hunt through.

Last night I did find a 1969 small date Canadian dime in a bank roll.

It's scuffed up (not sure how to classify it as a grade) so I have no idea if it is face value or more than a regular dime?
