Well, I have a story for everyone. It started at a bank's coin counting machine, so I guess this is the most appropriate place for it.
I just finished CRH a box of halves, and I was at my dump bank to run $499 through their coin sorting machine (I found 2 NIFCs). In the discharge tray, I found a Canadian dime, so I'm already feeling alright.
I ran the halves through the sorter, and came up $1.50 short. I took my ticket up to the teller to get the $497.50, and I let her know her machine may be off a little. A second teller volunteers to open the machine, and finds my missing halves. While she's doing that, the first teller says, "I have some foreign coins that are going in the trash. Did you want them?" So, she proceeds to hand me the "foreign" coins from a bag already in the trash: $1.20 Canadian, 2 Euros, and $3.30 US (one coin a Sacagawea, and another a Susan B. Anthony). I then told her if she ever has foreign coins she plans on throwing away, I'll take them.
Anyway, I've included pictures below. I didn't strike it rich, but what a fun day. And, because I know there are quarter hunters here, that 2020 Salt River Bay has a "P" mintmark.
Happy hunting, everyone!
