Well, I had a near miss finds yesterday, where I was on break and a woman was using the coinstar, heard several plunks down into the reject slot, then she finished up, and then took out all the rejects. So imagine her surprise when I approached and told her about those rejects and one of them was a 1967 Canadian silver quarter, 80% silver, along with other Canadian and a few other drops. She didn't even know that 1967 quarter was silver, and I soon told her I was a coin collector and I could tell her all about those rejects... I sometimes help other customers with the coinstar and proceed to tell them all about the reject slot finds, and tell them I am a collector...

Coinhunter4 - your foreign coin looks like an Isle of Man 5p. Great find - Isle of Man coins are minted in fairly small quantities!

Quote: I found these silvers today at the coinstar reject at work. 1961 dime and Switzerland 1952 1/2 franc (83.5% silver) my first foreign silver other than Canada. @mrwhatisit Great finds! I recently re-focused my collection to circulated silver especially world silver. You come along a Coinstar machine and find a couple pieces just sitting there! The 1/2 franc is especially interesting to me and I'd be happy to have more of those in my collection. They're very affordable especially in circulated condition but also historic. Some Swiss coin design has barely changed in 150 years so building a complete date set takes time! The rappen are easy but the francs (being silver) will take some time. It's gonna look great when it's done!
