My guess is that the person kept feeding it in and perhaps it got rejected one last time and they threw it in the top again as the machine was done counting the rest of their change It's good that the machine didn't mistake the coin for a zinc cent because of its weight. Sweet find!

Went to the grocery store the other day. I usually do I glance at the Coinstar reject tray, there were coins in there! Two dimes. At first glance one looked fairly new because it wasn't tarnished. I thought it was a newer Canadian. The other had the usual tarnish and wear on it. When I got them home I discovered was a 1964 and the other was a 1961. My first silver finds!  |

Thanks, cabowabo! And nice finds yourself! So, a week ago yesterday, hit the local CVS coinstar before visiting with family... 3 coins were in the reject bin - some sort of Japanese coin, and these two strangers.    Other than my famous pre-Christmas hoard (42 silver quarters, 37 silver dimes) from several years ago, this is only the second time I've ever found multiple silver quarters in a Coinstar. CRH Nickeloholic. 1,500,000 nickels searched in seven years! Have found THREE complete Jefferson sets!

Finally found something at a Coinstar. No silver but was neat to find. Well, guess I won't post a photo. Getting the nothing to see here screen when I try. Anyway, it was one clad quarter and seven clad dimes.  Now it's uploading photos. Something wonky has been going on with the site the past few days. Edited by Nycstlrr
