Love coins with the Dark on white (or light gray) color scheme... My German 1/2 Mark is my best piece to show for that... Black on Light Gray... Awesome details in hand (bar the date... Which is hard to read )

Ancient coins can be enhanced with this type of wear also, but if it is contrived, it is very easy to pick. Probably due to the great variation in the height of relief.

First day out and I learned something new. Now then can someone help me with the difference between toning and a cameo please? These are all beautiful coins and thanks for sharing folks. E.G.

CameoThe term applied to coins, usually Proofs and prooflike coins, that have frosted devices and lettering that contrast with the fields. When this is deep the coins are said to be "black and white" cameos. Occasionally frosty coins have "cameo" devices though they obviously do not contrast as dramatically with the fields as the cameo devices of Proofs do. Specifically applied by PCGS to those 1950 and later Proofs that meet cameo standards ( CAM). https://www.coincommunity.com/dicti.../coins_c.aspSo, in the case of the circulation coins, the contrast is between light devices and dark (toned) fields.
