Cool coins guys, only realised there were no 1961 Halfpennies a few weeks ago, of course there was in NZ though. Knew about the 33 penny for a long time.

I have a 1933, except its Australian!!
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

I have added the following to my collection:

With regards to the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek (Boer) coins, I will probably never own one of the 5 Shillings or Pond coins.

Every now and then a really nice coin comes a long, I can't afford it, but the dealer decides to let me have it at a nice discount. This is one such coin.

A 1750 Half crown

Close to fine and a nice clean piece. 1750 was the 2nd to last year for half crowns until 1816 (1751 is very scarce and 1750 is not that common either).

Another good pice and my 107th British half crown!

My family of new half crowns have arrived.

You have all seen the 1821 and 1835, but the others are fresh.

Top row - 1821 gG, 1835 aVG, 1849 small date - gVG/aFine
Bottom row - 1875 VG, 1878 gG, 1881 VG/VG+

Best of this motley lot is the 1849 Small date, cleaned - but a nice piece and quite scarce. I paid $95 NZD for it about 50
The rest cost between $15 and $45 (8 - 25)each.

Best I am going to capture this. Been driving me absolute bonkers. Has full cartwheel lustre and a super rainbow effect throughout both obverse and reverse. I think maybe more strike weakness than wear as the effect just wouldn't be uniform as it is with any wear on the coin. not a rare coin but just very much one for eye appeal.1946 .500 Silver half crown last issue for the silver coins. The cupro era began the following year 1947

Photographing that looks difficult, but I thin I see what you describe.

I'm not a big fan of the late Victoria bust but when the coin is this pretty I'll make an exception.
